Creatures of the Lake Eyre Basin from the exhibition Reg Dodd: Arabunna wadlhu
10 x 15 cm prints on photographic paper (set of 70)
Reg Dodd is an Arabunna Elder and Artist based in Maree, in the north of South Australia.
His work Arabunna wadhlu is a journey through Arabunna Country with four storylines that identify place and travel routes. These are just four of the many storylines from Arabunna land which serve as a memory-map to travel across Country, to find water and food plants, and to locate significant places.
Some stories are shared with other language groups. The stories show the starting points where the creatures began their journey or created the Country and embodied ancestral memory.
His second work Creatures of the Lake Eyre Basin shows the biodiversity of life on Arabunna Country. Some of his favourite photos are those of birds on water.
Sale price is for set of 70 photographs. To purchase individual photographs at $20 each please contact the gallery: Artspace.Gallery@adelaidefestivalcentre.com.au
