Flinders Ranges has many waterholes, some seasonal and some that are full year round. Many of these springs are connected to creation stories like the story of the Akurra (Creation Serpent) or Urdlu and Mandya. Surrounding the springs are often hunting grounds, many plants that can be eaten or used for medicine & ceremonial grounds with many of our stories and culture connected to these areas. The waterholes are a special place for me but are also vital to our culture and lands.
