This painting is in honour of my ‘surrogate’ mother who passed away at Christmas. She left us due to cancer. I wanted to honour her and also the link between us of both having cancer, she, ovarian and me metastatic breast cancer. I also hope this painting raises awareness of ovarian cancer, a deadly cancer that usually isn’t found until it’s too late. The colours for these cancers are pink and teal, I love this combination.
